Listowel man facing several charges following incident at Crabby Joe’s

LISTOWEL – A Listowel resident is facing multiple charges following an incident at Crabby Joe’s on Friday night.

Perth County OPP responded to a report of a disturbance at the restaurant just after 5 p.m. on June 30. It was reported that a customer, who had been asked to leave the restaurant, became aggressive, threatening, and assaultive.

Police say the suspect was wielding “an edged weapon” when they arrived, and was taken into custody after resisting arrest.

Police reported no injuries.

The accused, a 21-year-old male, has been charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, two counts of assault, assault with intent to resist arrest, assault a peace officer while carrying a weapon, assault a peace officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, mischief – damages or destroys property,  and mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interfers with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
