JULY – Area Canada Day celebrations took on a much more sombre note in 2021, following the discovery of the remains of countless Indigenous children in mass graves on the sites of former Canadian Residential Schools at the beginning of the summer. Just as the year before, 2021 was once again dominated by the constantly evolving situation surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic.
