To the editor,
The Lions Club of Wingham is very pleased to be able to thank our community for the generous support shown for the 70th community fundraising auction, previously known as the CKNX Radio Auction, that was held as an online auction this past December.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not able to host an auction at CKNX in 2020 or 2021 but, with the tremendous assistance of Chris Martin of Maitland Auctions and the generous contributions from our local businesses and supporters, we were able to host the 70th community fundraising auction this past December and, since it was very successful, we think we will try it again in 2022 (pandemic permitting).
We apologize for this tardy thank you, but this past week was the first time we were able to gather as a full club for a proper meeting since the auction, due to COVID restrictions.
