Why waste taxpayers money?

Dear Editor:

Seems now that the Brockton Council will be undertaking a position on the development of additional nuclear power.

Why would council waste taxpayer money to discuss whether or not we would want to remain stuck in the past?

Renewable energy that yields no waste is clearly here, will be here and is the future.

Recently the mayor of Sault Ste. Marie whined to the current Ontario Premier that they want to host any new nuclear development. This would provide some relief to us in Bruce since there is a willing host nearby to the Sault that would provide a “big dig” to house the radio-active waste.

This would reduce the concentration of unwanted waste and make it harder for any nefarious enemy of the state to completely destroy the current sites with one swoop.

The alternatives can readily be accommodated in abandoned gravel pits and soon to be an abandoned airport.
