To the editor,
Although I didn’t agree with snow plow operators not being vaccinated – yes they are alone in their vehicles but what about when they’re not? Do we really want the rest of the staff coming down with this disease because of it?
But when Mayor Peabody wrongly states that cross-border truckers (did he mean long distance truckers?) have limited contact with the public, I believe that he’s living in some weird dream state! Check the driving regulations for driving time allowed and you’ll find that they have lots of time off in a day. And with e-log books, they have to stop. And what do they do? Mingle with other drivers and staff wherever they are? And when you’re at a truck stop with thousands of parking spots, they could be mingling with all of North America.
Isn’t that how diseases get spread? Either get behind vaccine standards or stand on the other side! And yes, I have reached out to him via Messenger, giving him my thoughts. What other occupations does he believe don’t need vaccinated?
I sent you this opinion because it matters and I believe that the job that you do is great!
