To the Editor:
I’m writing to encourage families in our community to consider registering for the upcoming 4th annual Triumph Triathlon, taking place in Gorrie on Aug. 4 – a fantastic event that’s about more than just swimming, biking, and running.
I’ve had the opportunity to participate in past years and had an amazing experience. This year, I’ve taken on a leadership role and am helping organize the event. The triathlon is open to youth ages 6 to 17, with each age group swimming, biking, and running distances suited to their level.
This triathlon is a fun, friendly way for kids to get active, build confidence, and experience the joy of completing a challenge. It’s open to youth of all skill levels—whether they’re just beginning their triathlon journey or are already seasoned competitors. The emphasis is on participation, encouragement, and achieving personal bests, all with a dose of friendly competition.
Registration is now open, but spots are filling up fast. Whether your child is new to the sport or already passionate about being active, this is a great opportunity to set a goal and be part of something special.
I’d also like to thank the dedicated organizers, volunteers, and local sponsors who help bring this event to life each year. Their hard work makes it possible for young athletes to shine in a safe and supportive environment.
To register or learn more, visit tri-umph.ca or contact the organizing team at race@tri- umph.ca.
Let’s keep building a strong, active, and connected community—one finish line at a time.
Sincerely,
Megan McDonald, Gorrie
