Protesters have gone from ‘heroes to zeroes’

To the editor,

Congratulations to all the rogue truckers blockading all parts of Canada as well as the Ambassador Bridge at Windsor. Cutting off access to your fellow truckers to their U.S. deliveries is truly a stroke of genius!

And I love the burger stand and blow up playground you set up for the kiddies in Ottawa.

Your message has been received loud and clear by the entire world. We know you are tired of falling in line with 98 per cent of Canadians in regards to pandemic health restrictions and mandates. We know it is a slight to your “don’t tread on me” freedoms. And that it somehow bruises your poor, battered egos to have to wear a humiliating mask in public areas. Or to show proof of vaccination at border crossings to the U.S. – you’re OK with showing a printed manifest of a load or Z licence, but proof of the jab is a bridge too far.

All Canada has heard your voice: you’re “mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!”

Indeed, your protest in the early days was a success. Too bad you have decided to trample on your own message. You have prolonged your whining way too long and now, seemingly, to see your cause as above the law, have gone from heroes to zeroes. Time for all frustrated ball players to take their bats and balls and go home.

You won the battle, don’t lose the war!
