To the editor,
I am quite perplexed at the government’s and media’s response to the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa.
I am subject to a constant negative barrage about the convoy from the mainstream media, the Liberal Party, police and municipal officials in Ottawa. At the same time, I know quite a few people who have been there over the last week and a half and they say that what is happening on the ground in Ottawa is peaceful and actually very socially uplifting after two years of lockdown separation and isolation. They tell me the media portrayal is a totally false fabrication. Were there some bad actors? I’m sure there have been a few obnoxious extremists attracted to the crowd by an opportunity to grandstand, and there could well be some intentional plants to discredit and head off this groundswell of fed-up Canadians.
What am I to make of this? Is the media intentionally lying about this? Are the viewpoints they choose to cover carefully selected? And why would they do that? Valid questions that need to be asked and evaluated.
Why is this one-sided, fear-generating media campaign during this pandemic constantly telling us things that would make any thinking person or scientist say, “That doesn’t make sense” or “That’s not science”? Why do mainstream medical practitioners and researchers that are highly respected at major universities have their research published regularly by leading science journals but they are dismissed and shamed when they speak out about COVID with findings and facts that do not fit the politically-accepted narrative?
Why too, as of Jan. 21, have over 17,000 physicians, scientists and researchers worldwide felt the need to sign the ‘Physicians Declaration’ drafted at the Global COVID Summit? Google it. These physicians are calling out against policy makers, health agencies and institutions to “cease interfering with physicians treating individual patients” among other things. They are demonstrating in their practices and with supporting evidence that “early intervention with numerous, available agents has proven to be safe and effective, and has saved hundreds of thousands of lives.” (Quotes taken from ‘Physicians Declaration’) This is their rebuttal to the ‘one size fits all’ COVID treatment protocol that many doctors are forced to follow. That protocol essentially relies on the vaccination mantra and late intervention medical heroics that come into play only after many patients are too sick to recover. Why does the media not report on this?
If we are not being told the truth on these things, we may ask further, are we being told the truth about First Nations issues, about corruption in government, about climate ‘emergency’ or social engineering goals or globalist agendas? A local group has investigated the constant attack on property ownership in our nation (which affects both First Nations and almost everyone else) and many of them wonder if anyone will still own property within the next 10 or 20 years. So what actually are the plans being set in place for the so called ‘Great Reset’ and the ‘New World Order’ that has been hinted at from time to time by our fearless leaders?
Oh pardon me, I’m being stupid for asking that. I must not ask and should not know because I am only a despised peasant. Maybe they will throw me a few dry crusts of bread to eat. With that I should be content. And though I am but an ignorant peasant, I am finding it difficult to believe that our media and government are bastions of truth.
It would appear to me that an intentional smear campaign is being waged against legitimate concerns being brought up by this Freedom Convoy. It is not an anti-vax protest. Both vaxxed and unvaxxed are participating. It is not even an anti-mandate protest anymore. It is seen by normally quiet and non-vocal Canadians from coast to coast as a chance to recover freedoms now under threat in our county.
The Liberals began speaking division and hate in earnest at the last election against those that chose to hit the pause button on the vaccines. Many Canadians were dismayed at that policy of division, hate and insistence on 100 per cent compliance with the political idol of 100 per cent vaccination. More than 17,000 physicians have voted with their signatures that such a total reliance on vaccines is neither sound medicine or science. Evidence-based treatments save most patients, but such truth is not politically tolerated in Canada anymore.
My parents grew up before and during the war in the Netherlands and I am not naive about such things. We are moving towards totalitarian ideas. We have crossed a line. Of course, I am not saying that we are like pre-war Germany, but I am saying we are trending towards a soft version of totalitarianism. It starts with speaking division and hate. It progresses with intolerance and controlling edicts. Truth is the first victim. And what starts softly sometimes becomes very hard indeed.
Working-class Canadians are the ones who have suffered the most from government edicts. They are fed up. The peasants are not going to take it anymore. And the elites hate that. It has been in the Prime Minister’s prerogative from his first edict to the truckers to diffuse this situation. But the Prime Minister has stubbornly refused to Canada’s detriment and seems to be hard of hearing. That is why the volume is being turned up. Surely, for the love of Canada, there must be some in the Liberal caucus that could provide the Prime Minister with hearing aids?
God keep our land, glorious and free,
Oh Canada, we stand on guard for thee, because the collective in the House of Commons at this time is no help.
Pray for our country.
Pray for our leaders, MPs and MPPs.
