Dear Editor:
It is convenient even perhaps necessary that the Speaker of the Assembly must remain non partisan in his/ her pronouncements on matters before the government.
But this last Ford government policy to cut the province wide tree planting program must really stick in the present Speaker’s craw.
Was it not central to Ted Arnott’s platform to initiate the Green Legacy plan to plant these trees?
Was he sincere in wanting to help future generations and the environment by the introduction of this program or was he just pandering to the tree huggers for votes?
I guess we will never know because, as Speaker, he can’t express himself, can he?
Robert Sevigny,
