Like Father, Like Son…

Dear Editor:

Just as Pierre Trudeau in 1982 gave protestors, and Canadian voters, the finger, famously, in Salmon Arm B.C. on the back of the Governor General’s train he had ‘borrowed’ for a vacation, his son, who was on that train, just gave us the finger again.

Finally making a foregone-conclusion decision three months after he should have, he has left the country with a non-prime minister, no parliament with its checks and balances, as flawed as it may be, and no ability to face the largest threat this country has ever seen – the Trump administration.

In three weeks Trump takes power, and in no less than three months will we have a parliament that once again functions, albeit falling on its first day back and forcing an election, another minimum 36 day delay. The Trump administration will have been in power over four months before Canada can properly respond.

As with your father, thank you Mr. Prime Minister, for caring more about your perceived reputation and legacy than the voters you serve. Even your legacy is now sullied beyond repair.

Maybe a vacation in Jamaica. Like father like son. This time you will have to pay for it yourself.
