To the editor,
As we get older in life, (myself being a baby-boomer) it takes a little longer to get into the Christmas spirit.
I must let everyone know after attending Friday morning coffee/tea break for Alzheimer’s with South Bruce Mayor Mark Goetz at the Mildmay-Carrick Community Centre last week, it just hit me – now I am in the Christmas spirit.
For the past 13 years I, along with my wife Jo-Ann, have supported many events to help raise awareness of the dreaded disease Alzheimer’s in Grey/Bruce and Huron/Perth counties.
Mayor Goetz was indeed a great host and along with his helpers it was a wonderful, relaxing morning that he should be proud of. Sure, numbers were down (it is a busy time of year for everyone) but it is the awareness that myself and the others attending made this a “must” event to attend.
In 2024, I hope to be in Formosa with Mayor Goetz and others to bring Alzheimer awareness to the forefront.
