Dear Editor;
Sunday October 4th will be the 4th annual Elora Horse & Hound Parade – a non-sporting, annual fund raiser for Groves Memorial Hospital. We invite everyone to this FREE event, which starts at the Elora Mill Inn at 1pm (plan to arrive EARLY), and eventually parades through the streets of Elora, this year stopping at the Township offices (1 MacDonald Square) and Mill Street Bistro and Smokehouse (15 East Mill Street), before returning to the Mill. At the Mill from 1pm there will be food & refreshment for purchase, entertainment, a ceremony and lots of opportunity to meet the riders, admire the horses and play with the hounds (and the best photo ops!)! At all locations and along the parade route we will be collecting freewill donations. 100% Of the profits from this amazing spectacle are donated to the hospital to assist in the purchase of an electro-mammogram machine to serve our community. Last year our crowd was estimated at 5000 people. To date, we have raised more than $15,000 for the cause. We hope to beat the attendance and top up the amount again this year! The event goes rain or shine. We appeal for a hearty attendance and a generous spirit from our community again this year. Keep your eyes peeled to the pages of the Wellington Advertiser over the next few weeks for more details, or visit www.elorahorseandhound.com for more information. Thank you to everyone who has made this yearly event such a success!
Sincerely,
Fred Gordon,
Elora Horse & Hound Parade
