Dear Editor,
Last week’s withdrawal of Diane Ballantyne from the nomination contest for the Federal Liberal candidacy was a disappointment and a loss for the riding of Wellington-Halton Hills. As the nomination contestant most effective at attracting younger voters her campaign brought hope that the local Liberal establishment might get an influx of fresh faces to help out with the important work that happens both during and between elections. It’s good to see that there are still two candidates vying for the privilege of representing Wellington-Halton Hills at the upcoming May 13th Nomination Meeting and I hope that Diane’s supporters will continue to involve themselves with the local Liberal cause. I applaud Diane for the excellent campaign she ran and wish her the best in her future endeavours.
