The Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation works very closely with our local hospital and are doing our best work with all our hospital employees during these challenging times.
The following is part of the mission statement of the Foundation: The mission of the Walkerton and District Hospital Foundation is to encourage and facilitate citizens and service groups to financially support OUR local hospital.
Hence, the Foundation’s task: actively working to keep our local hospital current.
The Foundation will receive, acknowledge and utilize funds raised to assist in the purchase of equipment, support patient programs and province health-related education to our community.
The Foundation has provided the following pieces of equipment over the last number of years:
– mammography machine;
– CT scanner;
– laparoscopy tower;
– picture archiving and communication system;
– safe room;
– Family Birthing Centre newborn blanket;
– Family Birthing Centre fetal monitor;
– two emergency mattresses – stretcher;
– anesthetic machine; and
– Family Birthing Centre ECG machine.
As noted, we are working extremely hard to access funds to upgrade our hospital equipment. Our mission is to provide equipment to all areas of the hospital, so all employees are able to provide our community with the best services in rural Ontario.
We would not be able to provide these much-needed pieces of equipment without the tremendous support of our community and we do ask that your support continues during these troublesome times in Ontario. When we all work together, we can accomplish important things.
