The Listowel District Secondary School Lightning claimed third place in the Huron-Perth Athletic Association (HPAA) varsity girls’ field hockey playoffs last week, edging St. Marys 2-1 in the bronze medal game on Oct. 27. Fourth-seeded LDSS (2-3) fell to South Huron in the semifinal on Oct. 25 before responding with the win in their final game of the season last Wednesday. South Huron went on to win the HPAA field hockey championship over Goderich D.C.I.
