LDSS girls’ slo-pitch team claims silver at Huron-Perth championships

EXETER – The LDSS Lightning girls’ slo-pitch team had a very successful season, only losing one regular season game to St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in their first game of the spring.

This record allowed the Lightning to advance to the Huron-Perth championship playoff round in Exeter, competing against South Huron DSS, St. Anne’s Catholic SS, and rival St. Mike’s on June 6.

LDSS defeated both St. Anne’s and South Huron, which set the stage for the gold medal game with the Lightning taking on St. Mike’s. The Stratford squad had some strong bats and excellent pitching, with the Lightning falling 8-2 in the finale.
