WALKERTON – Larsen & Shaw is pleased to announce their commitment to #breakthebias, the theme for 2022 International Women’s Day, held on March 8.
President and CEO, Mary Jane Bushell emphasized the significance for women entering the manufacturing industry, which provides opportunities for career development and a chance to earn a good income. Larsen & Shaw is recognized as a “living wage” employer.
Bushell, who worked her way through the company to earn the title of president and CEO, recognizes the importance of women in manufacturing trades.
“Recognizing the contribution of women in the manufacturing industry, especially considering it is traditionally male-dominated, is our way of raising awareness for other employers in the community to engage and recognize women. Having a corporate statement will only help in the collective goal of building a more representative workforce in the community,” she said.
In honour of International Women’s Day, Larsen & Shaw have launched their corporate statement on diversity which takes into consideration the unique needs of women and other groups wishing to enter and be included in the manufacturing labour market.
