Interesting piece of history

Listowel’s Dianne Fitzgerald found an interesting piece of history while she and her husband were renovating their home decades ago. Fitzgerald found a copy of the June 2, 1953 Hamilton Spectator that once belonged to her grandmother, Annie Hoadley – who had lived in the house previously – outlining Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. “It was a huge event. Probably for all Canadians,” said Fitzgerald. “On the world stage as a female, she was one of the few at the time of her coronation.” (Dan McNee photo)
