The Mitchell team of firefighters competed in the Perth County Mutual Aid Water Games. There were four teams from the fire stations in Mitchell, Milverton, Monkton and Sebringville. Teams were tasked with filling the barrel on top of the scaffolding with water from a tank below. The Mitchell team came first in the event, with a time of one minute and two seconds. Milverton firefighters celebrated the station’s 100th anniversary on Sept. 24. The day consisted of a variety of events, from an anniversary parade and banquet to the Perth County Mutual Aid Water Games.
