LISTOWEL – Another driver has been charged with impaired driving after a traffic stop in the Municipality of North Perth earlier this month.
On Jan. 13 just before 9 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Tremaine Avenue South in Listowel. The driver was arrested and transported to a police operations centre for further examination by a Drug Recognition Evaluator.
Lance Brighton, 60, of Howick Township, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and possession of Schedule I Substance – opioid.
A 90-day driving suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
