Impaired driver arrested at RIDE program

NORTH PERTH – On Oct. 22 just after 6 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program (Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere) in the Municipality of North Perth.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

Murray Subject, 42, of North Perth, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, as well as operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute. The accused in this matter was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.
