ETHEL – A Huron East resident has been charged with uttering threats to a police officer following an incident neat Ethel on Jan. 17.
Huron County OPP say officers were dispatched to a “disturbance” on Brandon Road near Ethel around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
“When police arrived, they interacted with a male at a residence who was verbally abusive and uttered threats towards police. The male exited the residence and continued to be non-compliant with the officers,” reads a Huron County media release about the incident.
Police say a taser was used on the suspect, which “enabled the officers to safely place him under arrest.”
The accused, 29-year-old Brandon Schott from Huron East, has been charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.
He remains in custody awaiting bail.
