Huron County OPP investigating thefts at local campground

HOWICK – Police are investigating a break, enter and thefts incident that happened last week at a campground in Howick Township.

On July 31, Huron OPP members responded to a campground located on Orange Hill Road to investigate a report of a break, enter and thefts.

Police say that sometime between July 28 and July 29 at noon, the suspects knocked down a fence and drove an ATV into the campground. Once inside the campground, the suspects entered several trailers and shed, stealing several items.

Some of the stolen items are as follows:

  • a red Bristers Trail Wagon Utility Vehicle with a hard-top canopy;
  • a red Milwaukee Sawzall;
  • two gas cans;
  • a black socket set;
  • a battery charging station; and
  • several propane canisters.
