Huron County offering information sessions on how to help Ukraine

HURON COUNTY – The Huron County Library and the Huron County Immigration Partnership are uniting to host Ukraine information sessions throughout April after receiving several requests from residents on how to help the people of Ukraine.

A Huron County press release said all interested community members are invited to attend one of several sessions being organized “to learn which local organizations are currently working to provide supports to the people of Ukraine, what supports are currently available to newcomers who might be arriving from Ukraine, and how local residents can contribute to these efforts.”

“Many community members have indicated they would like to know how they could help and prepare,” said Kristin Crane of the Huron County Immigration Partnership. “These information sessions will highlight current local actions, and provide residents with information on how they may be able to contribute, as the need arrives locally.”

Community information sessions are planned for:

Tuesday, April 12 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Exeter Library (330 Main St. S.)

Wednesday, April 13 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Seaforth Library (108 Main St. S.)

Thursday, April 14 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Alice Munro Library in Wingham (281 Edward St.)

There will also be a virtual community information session on April 20 from 7-8:30 p.m.
