HANOVER – A 25-year member of the Hanover Police Service faces charges involving the use of force on a person in custody.
The officer is charged with administering a noxious substance, assault and breach of trust by a police officer. The alleged offence occurred on Jan. 2 in the department’s cells.
The Owen Sound Police Service conducted the investigation into the incident.
The officer was released from custody and will appear in Walkerton court on April 12. He has been suspended with pay.
