Hanover man killed in snowmobile crash in Brockton

BROCKTON – A snowmobile crash late Saturday night has resulted in a fatality.

South Bruce OPP, Bruce County Paramedic Services and the Walkerton Fire Department responded to the crash around 11:25 p.m. on Feb. 4. The crash occurred near Sideroad 10 South between 6th Concession and 8th Concession in Brockton.

“Upon arrival first responders located and then performed life saving measures on the snowmobile operator,” states a release from South Bruce OPP. “He was transported from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.”

Police did not name the deceased, but did identify the man as a 28-year-old resident of RR#1 Hanover.

According to police, the deceased was operating a snowmobile on an Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs trail when he left the trail and collided with a tree.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted.
