HANOVER – This year’s Art Under the Harvest Moon gala marks the third opportunity for the Hanover Public Library Board to host an art gala with the Saugeen Artists Guild. This year’s event will take place at the Hanover Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 7-11 p.m.
With the support of the Town of Hanover’s Innovative People Program, the gala committee has been working hard to make this event an elegant evening for all. Dale and Cathy Cousins, owners of Canadian Tire in Hanover, have taken the lead on the thematic décor, which should impress guests.
Highlights of the evening include an art exhibition and sale by SAG featuring jewellery, leather goods, acrylics, oils, water colours and fused glass work, a live auction with auctioneer Dan Bailey, scrumptious hors d’oeuvres catered by Harley’s Pub & Perk in Mildmay and live music performed by Yuki Stocovaz and Beth Cruickshank. The auction will include some high value, surprising and unusual items and experiences, including two different artist group sessions for four guests. Fundraising Chair, Susan Sakal, explains, “One of our live auction items is a basket of gift certificates donated by local businesses. There has been an overwhelming response to this idea. I believe that we are so blessed here in Hanover to have such wonderful support from the business community.” There will be a cash bar, a coat check and accessibility is available at this location as well.
The library board is especially grateful for their premier sponsors: Smitty’s Fine Furniture, Grey Rose Suites, Electrical Contacts Limited, Meridian ,Wightman, Inques Tattoo, Exceldor Foods, Fidler Moving & Storage, Gresta Limited, Hallman Motors, New Life Mills and Canadian Tire.
Of course, this event would not be possible without a strong and impressive team of dedicated volunteers consisting of library board members, artists and community volunteers.
Tickets are on sale now for $50 each (cash or Interac) and they can be picked up at the Hanover Public Library. If you wish to order by phone and pay online (e-transfer) call 519-364-1420.
