WALKERTON – Ronald Seifried, 60, of West Grey pleaded guilty in Walkerton Court on Feb. 2, to charges of dangerous driving causing death, and failing to remain and provide assistance.
He was originally charged with second degree murder in the Jan. 4, 2019 death of Steven Berfelz, 53, at an East Brant property near Concession 4 in Brockton. There had been a dispute during which Seifried ran over Berfelz with a tractor and left the scene. When paramedics arrived, they found Berfelz had no vital signs. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
Sentencing will take place March 21.
