HANOVER – Christmas is a time for music and the Grey Bruce Singers (GBS) really missed being able to perform for their audiences for these past two years.
Not to worry though – they are coming back.
Due to the ongoing Civic Theatre renovations, Grace United Church in Hanover will be the practise venue for GBS with a hoped for start time in February 2022. Mindful of COVID concerns, the board will monitor the Grey/Bruce/Wellington numbers to be sure everyone can safely gather in February.
GBS is a community choir which does not require that you read music – learn by doing. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday evenings, usually 7-9 p.m. And the music will be supplied. While there is a membership fee, it is low when considering what the group has to offer everyone. All members must be double vaccinated and wear a mask. There are ‘singer’s masks’ which allow much better vocal breathing.
While the first performances the Grey Bruce Singers will offer in the new year may look very different to audiences, the group is anxious to commence singing again and offers a warm welcome to others who may want to join in.
