HURON-PERTH – The Ontario GO-VAXX bus mobile clinic will be heading to Huron-Perth next week to provide first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine to anyone born in 2009 or earlier.
Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 26, the GO-VAXX bus will be stopping in Wingham at the Wescast Community Complex, and then rolling into the Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre in Stratford on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Anyone born in 2009 or earlier is eligible to attend the walk-in clinics for their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and no appointment is required.
The GO-VAXX clinics will be available as follows:
Tuesday, Oct. 26 | Wescast Community Complex | 99 Kerr Drive, Wingham | 12-6 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 27 | Festival Marketplace Shopping Centre | 1067 Ontario Street, Stratford | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Since hitting the road in August, the converted Metrolinx buses have administered more than 10,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine across Ontario. Each bus operates as a fully functioning, fully-accessible vaccine clinic with the necessary supplies and trained staff to provide assistance to people and ensure vaccines are administered safely.
All COVID-19 safety precautions are followed on board, including the required pre-vaccination screening and post-vaccination monitoring.
“The GO-VAXX bus provides an easy, convenient option for individuals to get their COVID-19 vaccine, and we’re pleased to welcome the GO-VAXX bus mobile clinic to Huron Perth,” says Dr. Lauren Hayward, physician consultant for Huron-Perth Public Health. “Being fully vaccinated is the best protection against COVID-19, especially the highly-transmissible Delta variant. I encourage anyone who has yet to get their COVID-19 vaccine and is eligible for a first or second dose, to attend one of these mobile clinics to get vaccinated as soon as possible.”
For anyone wishing to attend one of the GO-VAXX mobile clinics next week, please remember to wear a mask and bring your health card with you if you have one, or another form of identification. Wear clothing that allows for easy access to the upper arm such as a loose-fitting top or a t-shirt, and dress for the weather in case there is a line up.
