PERTH COUNTY – Pride in Perth County has a new name and look.
The board of directors of Infinite Pride Stratford announced in a news release on Monday that Infinite Pride Stratford is now known as Stratford-Perth Pride (SP Pride). Through a new name, logo, website and new board members, SP Pride is starting a new and exciting chapter of supporting the LGBTQ2S+ community in Stratford and Perth County.
“When you think of pride, most people think of the elaborate parades and festivities in Toronto and New York but pride is needed everywhere – including every community throughout Perth County,” says AJ Adams, president of Stratford-Perth Pride. “Stratford-Perth is excited for our next chapter of bringing pride throughout Stratford and Perth County.”
SP Pride provides LGBTQ2S+ programming to make Perth County a more welcoming, accepting and inclusive community for gender- and sexually-diverse individuals.
“Our mission is to make Perth County a place where no matter who you love or how you identify, you will be safe, valued, equal and proud,” says Adams.
As society begins to return to normal, SP Pride will begin to plan for Pride Month 2022 which will include the annual Pride parade in Stratford and other Pride programming throughout the county.
SP Pride is led by a dedicated team of a volunteer board of directors who use their skills, expertise and lived experience to achieve SP Pride’s mission, vision and values. SP Pride is currently looking for individuals to join our board of directors – with a desire for individuals with expertise in legal, governance and policy, fundraising, and event planning.
