WINGHAM – The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation (WDHF) announced last week that more than $870,000 will be donated to the Wingham and District Hospital.
A total of $870,325.29 was raised by the foundation during the 2021-22 fiscal year.
According to WDHF, this donation has helped fund the following projects at the hospital:
– Omni cell, single tower (medication dispensing technology);
– Automed refurbishment (medication dispensing technology);
– OR scope fleet upgrade;
palliative care suite renovations;
– X-ray department refresh;
– UV light sanitizer;
– bariatric stretcher (thanks to the Wingham and District Hospital Auxiliary);
– three televisions (thanks to the Wingham and District Hospital Auxiliary);
– in-patient medical grade fridge (thanks to the Wingham and District Hospital Auxiliary);
– Netflix for oncology iPads; and
– annual contribution to Wingham & Area Health Professionals Recruitment Committee.
These funds were raised through bequests, grants, the CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon, other fundraisers, memorial and general donations to the foundation.
Since the inception of the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation, it has donated $10,808,534 to the Wingham and District Hospital.
