FORMOSA – On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the Formosa Lions conducted the Home Decoration Contest, held in conjunction with the third annual Formosa Country Christmas (FCC) drive-thru event.
Three years ago the Lions decided to host the contest to add to the many, many, lighted displays that FCC has erected throughout the village.
The judges reported the decorated homes were absolutely beautiful. Some homes depicted everything connected with Christmas and wintertime, while some homes were a wonderland of lights and some artistically decorated.
When the judging was completed and the scores tallied, the following Formosians were declared the winners and a first, second or third place notice was put on their front lawn:
First place: Steve and Maureen Benninger at 151 Council Rd. won $200;
Second place – Murray Kuntz at 1173 Bruce Road 12 won $100; and
Third place – Derrick and Shirley Gamble at 1149 Bruce Road 12 won $50.
The Formosa Lions thank everyone who decorated their homes. It is amazing how one string of lights or a Christmas tree in the window can pass along the spirit of Christmas.
