FORMOSA – The Formosa Catholic Women’s League (CWL) held a meeting on April 5. President Linda Freiburger welcomed members to the Formosa Hall and thanked Father Paul Edmondstone for offering mass at the church before the meeting.
The CWL ladies have been pretty quiet for the past two years, but with the pandemic promising to soon be under control, the ladies are at it again, making plans for several events.
Their Mass and Communion Breakfast will be held on April 24, with the Formosa Swans looking after the meal. Their yearly Cold Plate Supper, which has had a two-year break, is scheduled for June 5. The CWL ladies have their quilt and afghan made and ready to go, so there will be a draw in December with draw tickets soon available.
The ladies have set the church cleaning bee for April 27 and the Formosa Community Centre kitchen cleaning for May 11. Tuesday, May 3, will see the yearly retreat return after the COVID break.
The members who gathered on April 5, still distancing and wearing masks, were so happy to have been able to get-together and left the meeting wishing everyone a Happy Easter.
