Drowsy driver deemed as cause of collision

NORTH PERTH – One person was charged after a collision in North Perth resulted in non-life-threatening injuries.

On Feb. 28 at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Line 91, just west of Perth Road 140, in the Municipality of North Perth. The investigation indicated that one driver had fallen asleep while driving.

Two people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Aswin Gopinath Shaija, 24, of Waterloo, has been charged with careless driving.

The accused was issued a provincial offences notice for the offence.
