MORRIS-TURNBERRY – Huron County OPP has charged a Morris-Turnberry resident following a single vehicle rollover on Jan. 15.
Just after 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Huron County OPP responded to a collision scene involving an SUV on Howick-Turnberry Road, outside Wingham.
The investigation revealed that the lone female driver was holding her puppy while driving, at which time the puppy fell into the driver’s side wheel well area, causing the driver to lose control of the Cadillac Escalade and enter the ditch. The driver received minor injuries and was transported to Wingham hospital and later released. The puppy was reportedly uninjured.
The driver, a 35-year-old Morris-Turnberry resident, has been charged with careless driving.
The Huron OPP would like to remind the public that any animals, persons, or property should be secured and not interfere with the proper management or control of the motor vehicle.
