Driver charged with impaired

PERTH EAST – On Nov. 26 just after 10 p.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting a general patrol when they came across a vehicle in the ditch on Perth Line 72 in the Township of Perth East.

During the investigation, the officer noted that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered. The driver was arrested and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Andrew Kroeker, 30, of Waterloo, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
