LISTOWEL – For the second time in a week, a Listowel residence under construction has been the victim of a break, enter and theft.
Just before 9 a.m. on March 28, Perth County OPP responded to the reported break in at a home on Inkerman Street West in Listowel.
According to police, sometime between March 27 and March 28, an unknown suspect(s) force their way into the residence and removed copper wiring, copper tubing, and some electronics.
The value of the damage and theft is about $1,500, according to police.
Perth County OPP told the Banner this is the same home that was broken into on March 26.
That incident saw unknown suspect(s) enter the home through boarded-up windows and steal an estimated $3,000 worth of tools.
“The public is asked to report suspicious activity immediately, and remember to lock doors to vehicles, houses, garages and sheds. Do not leave keys with vehicles, including ATVs. Consider installing security features, such as increased lighting, cameras, or alarms,” police stated in a media release.
