BRUSSELS – McDonagh Insurance Brokers ($5,000) and employee Dan Fritz ($20,000) have pooled their resources to make a combined $25,000 donation to the Inspiring Our Future Campaign, which will support the renovation and expansion project at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre (BMGCC).
McDonagh Insurance is a full-line insurance brokerage originally founded in 1931. They offer farm, commercial, home, auto and recreational insurance solutions and have offices in Wingham, Atwood, Lucknow, Walkerton and Teeswater. Dan Fritz is an account executive with the firm and covers the Wingham/Brussels area.
Fritz, who is also the Inspiring Our Future public awareness and community engagement chair, accepted the donation.
“It’s a pretty natural choice for me to support this project,” he said. “By the time the build and fundraising campaign wrap up, I will have over five years working on this project. There’s a bit of history here too, with two of my grandparents being on the committee that oversaw the original arena build back in 1977. I am just lucky to have employers that see the value in supporting this as well. It’s a great investment in our community’s future recreation needs.”
Breanne (McDonagh) Chapman and Conor McDonagh presented the donation on behalf of McDonagh Insurance Brokers, saying, “We are proud to have an employee so dedicated to his community and are pleased to be able to support Dan with this worthwhile cause that will benefit the Brussels community, which he actively serves for years to come.”
Any donations made to the Inspiring Our Future campaign will benefit the expansion of the dressing rooms, creation of an unobstructed heated viewing area, new entrance and foyer, roof replacement and several other modernizations. Anyone interested in learning more about the project is encouraged to contact Campaign Chair Brian TenPas at 519-492-0214, Campaign Coordinator Roxane Nicholson at roxane@jamienicholson.ca, or any member of the campaign team.
