TEESWATER – A limited number (due to COVID-19 restrictions) of crokinole players enjoyed an afternoon of play on Sept. 3 at Boomers Cosy Restaurant in Teeswater. The players were grateful to once again enjoy the social aspect of getting together. Players travelled from Owen Sound, Port Elgin as well as more local Hanover, Mildmay, Elmwood and of course Teeswater.
The next event that is planned will be a crokinole tournament to be held at the Teeswater Town Hall on Sept. 25 to raise money for Alzheimer’s again all health protocols as issued by the Grey/Bruce health unit will be followed.
If you would like more information or wish to donate you can call Peter Carter at 392-8115. Because of COVID-19 restrictions Carter was unable to go door-to-door collecting pledges as he has for the past 10 years, surpassing $87,000 in the annual event Walk for Alzheimer’s.
He thought this would be a great event to raise awareness about the disease and have an enjoyable afternoon of crokinole at the same time.
