HURON COUNTY – Huron Perth Crime Stoppers and police are asking for the public’s assistance in solving the following break, enter, and theft occurrences.
At 2:54 a.m. on March 3, a male broke into a business on Blyth Road in Auburn. While in the store the man stole $8,000 cash, and $15,000 worth of cigarettes, and some hand tools. The thief also disabled video cameras. Police say the suspect vehicle is a white Dodge Ram. The suspect is described as a larger male wearing brown overalls and a black sweatshirt.
Between Feb. 27 and Feb. 28, thieves broke into a house on West Street in Huron East, and stole a quantity of tools used for construction. Police say among the stolen items was an automatic nailer, Makita 40-volt cordless skill saw, Makita cordless reciprocating saw, Makita corded electrical saw, and various other tools.
Sometime overnight on March 17, thieves attended a Hawkins Road residence in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh that was under construction, and stole building materials and tools. Police say three garage doors, a roll of weather stripping, 50 sheets of plywood, a skid of 2x4s, two boxes of nails, a box of screws, hammers, saw blades, ladder, and two ten-foot angles were stolen. Police say the value of the stolen items is over $45,000.
