COVID numbers still low in Grey-Bruce

GREY-BRUCE – The local health unit reports that as of Sept. 28, there were 11 active cases of COVID-19, with 41 active high-risk contacts.

There were no new cases of COVID reported in the previous 24 hours.

Four people are hospitalized with COVID in Grey-Bruce.

Vaccination clinics continue throughout Grey and Bruce. On Friday, Oct. 1, a walk-in clinic is being held at the Durham Community Centre from 4 to 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Third doses will be provided to those with supporting documentation signed by a physician. For a list of current clinics, check the health unit’s website – www.publichealthgreybruce.on.ca.

The criteria for those eligible for a third dose of vaccine has been expanded to include those undergoing treatment for some cancers, those with moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency, stage three or advanced untreated HIV and those with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, and those undergoing active treatment with certain categories of immunosuppressive therapies. This is in addition to transplant recipients, patients with hematological cancers on active treatment for malignant hematologic disorders, and recipients of an anti-CD20 agent.
