GREY-BRUCE – As of Tuesday, Nov. 16, Grey-Bruce had had five new cases of COVID-19 reported in the previous 24 hours, for a total of 31 active cases with 225 high-risk contacts.
One person is hospitalized in Grey-Bruce with COVID-19.
This is a much more positive picture than is the case in much of Ontario, where the case count continues to be around the 500 mark. Some areas are reinstating measures to prevent the transmission of COVID. That hasn’t happened in Grey-Bruce.
There continue to be concerns about cases of COVID at local schools.
During the first two weeks in November, a number of local schools have had a class or classes that were asked to remain at home due to a case of COVID-19. These include Spruce Ridge Community school (no bus routes involved), Georgian Bay Community School (one bus route), and John Diefenbaker Senior School (two classes, one bus route).
There have been other cases in schools since classes resumed in September but no indication of transmission in the school setting, meaning no outbreaks.
