LISTOWEL – Huron Perth Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the second-floor medicine unit of the Listowel Memorial Hospital.
A total of four patients have been identified as part of the outbreak. No staff cases have been re-ported.
“COVID remains present throughout our community and that is the probable source of the infections,” states a release from the hospital on Oct. 13.
“The hospital is working very closely with Huron Perth Public Health and our regional partners regarding admissions, transfers and repatriations in response to this outbreak.”
The hospital says that emergency department visits, ambulatory care services, operating room procedures, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging and specialist visits continue to occur.
There is currently no inpatient visiting permitted on the second floor at this time.
Hospital officials ask that if you are not feeling well, or have COVID symptoms, to not come to the hospital except for necessary emergency care.
