NORTH PERTH – United Way Perth-Huron (UWPH) is inviting local workplaces and individuals to “Unite for a Bite” in support of the organization’s work to help build brighter futures for North Perth’s most vulnerable residents.
On Friday, Oct. 20, seven local restaurants will offer a select meal made available for this initiative. Businesses can opt to buy lunch for their team members, encourage employees to take part through a $20 meal purchase, or buy meals and donate them to local organizations that would benefit from the meals. Individual or small group orders are also welcome. $5 from every meal purchased will be directed towards UWPH’s work in North Perth.
Participating restaurants include the Atwood Café, Diana Sweets, Holy Guacamole, Jetts Juice, the Kitchen Cupboard & Icebox, Spice India Indian Cuisine and Veky’s International Cuisine. The deadline to order meals from participating restaurants is Friday, Oct. 13. Those interested in joining this community-wide initiative can email Todd Kasenberg at tkasenberg@perthhuron.unitedway.ca for copies of the marketing package, including order form.
As part of fundraising efforts in North Perth, UWPH is also holding a silent auction. Offering 21 different items to bid on including artwork, gift cards, wearable tech and wardrobe accessories, the North Perth silent auction helps support UWPH’s work in the local community on pressing issues including homelessness, mental health, and access to services.
Bidding closes at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20. For a complete list of items and a link to bid, visit perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
