NORTH PERTH – On July 6 at approximately 8:31 p.m., an officer from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor-vehicle collision on Line 88 in the Municipality of North Perth.
Investigation revealed the driver left the scene and was subsequently arrested nearby at an address on Road 164 in Wallace Township and transported to a local detachment for further testing. The male admitted to crashing his vehicle and leaving the scene.
An 18-year-old male resident of Mitchell has been charged with two offences, including operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and fail to remain.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Aug. 14, 2023 to answer to the charges.
