Palmerston’s Leah Herrfort dropped the ceremonial puck prior to the Mitchell Hawks’ home PJHL matchup against the Wingham Ironmen on Feb. 11. Herrfort was instrumental in helping Team Canada to women’s hockey gold at the World University Games in Lake Placid in January, racking up four goals and four assists in the tournament. Herrfort is pictured with Mitchell captain Mark Cassidy and Wingham captain Kyle Stanbury. The Hawks would go on to blank the Ironmen, 3-0.
