With the COVID-19 pandemic seemingly in the rearview mirror, music has returned to local stages. However, there may be no bigger concert on the calendar in midwestern Ontario this fall than Jason McCoy at the Wingham Town Hall Theatre on Thursday, Nov. 24.

A spook-tacular time was had by all at the Wingham Legion’s Halloween Party on Oct. 29.

Residents from far and wide travelled to downtown Teeswater on Oct. 29 to participate in the Teeswater Witches Walk. Participants of all ages gathered Saturday morning dressed in their spookiest costumes, performed a scary dance and took an eerie walk around downtown Teeswater.

F.E. Madill Secondary School hosted a Halloween Carnival on Oct. 28. In addition to games, activities and face painting, treats were also available from Sweets N’ Treats.

With deer hunting season now open, the sight of hunters in local fields and bushes will be commonplace.

There was plenty of fun to be had at the Catholic Women’s League’s Fall Family Fun Fest on Oct. 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wingham.

Brindley Auction Services has donated $5,725 to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation (WDHF).

The Wingham EarlyON Playgroup gathered at Cruickshank Park on Friday, Oct. 28 for its annual Halloween playgroup. More than a dozen kids took part, and were dressed in their Halloween costumes for some playtime before walking down Josephine Street for some trick-or-treating at downtown businesses.

This year’s Festival of Lanterns in Wingham was a spook-tacular success.

It was difficult not to notice the giant hole in front of the North Huron municipal office in downtown Wingham last week. Clerk Carson Lamb told the Advance Times that work has begun on a mobility ramp that is being constructed for accessibility.

It is amazing what a little bit of “organized panic” and a supportive community can accomplish in a short amount of time.

Maitland Conservation (MC) board members returned to the administration building in Wroxeter for the first time since moving to the Wroxeter Community Hall in 2020 due to the social-distancing mandate during the pandemic.
