Brockton has scheduled another special council meeting to consider the 2024 municipal budget. The meeting is currently scheduled for Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Cargill Community Centre. However, the time and location may change.

Brockton council is opting out of the Municipal Innovation Council (MIC). At the Jan. 23 meeting, council passed a resolution to that effect.

With only 10 games remaining in the 2023-24 PJHL campaign, the Walkerton Capitals have some heavy lifting ahead of them if the junior club hopes to secure a top-four spot in the Pollock Division standings.

The Jan. 19 Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) annual general meeting (AGM) included a celebration of accomplishments from 2023, and milestones that have been achieved.

Chris Peabody, mayor of Brockton and warden of Bruce County, took a few minutes Tuesday morning to speak with the Herald-Times during a very busy Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) conference.

Although most snowmobile trails in the province still remain closed, enough snow has fallen in this area to get snowmobile enthusiasts onto local trails – evidenced by the roar of the machines heading to a Walkerton gas station.
