The fourth meeting of the South Bruce Dairy Club, joined by the Arran Tara Dairy Club, was held at the Teeswater Fairgrounds on July 23.

After a long wait, the 166th Listowel Agricultural Fair finally kicked off without a hitch. Elizabeth Johnston, president of the Listowel Agricultural Society, says that despite a rocky few years, in which a full fair had to be postponed, the fair was extremely successful.

“This is a legacy that will carry on for generations,” said Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson during a celebration at the Scott Farm on Nature Centre Road just outside of Belgrave.

“Asking isn’t working,” said Donna Lacey, Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority’s (SVCA) manager of forestry and lands.

On June 25, the South Bruce Dairy Club held its third meeting. This year the Ripley 4-H Dairy Club and the Mildmay 4-H Dairy Club have joined together to form the South Bruce 4-H Club. The club started the meeting at Doral Farms near Teeswater.
